Changes and Transformation
I remember being a little kid and just getting the Internet. At the time it seemed so cool that I had unlimited access to games and answers to my questions. As a kid that was all I was worried about I had no idea how new the Internet was and how it would grow into something that I used everyday. I remember dial up being so slow but I didn't know any better, I'd probably go crazy using the Internet that I grew up on. Now the Internet and the computer in general I have grown dependent on. It is my knowledge base when I don't know about a concept or what a word means or how to spell it I can hop onto the Internet and answer all of my questions. The Internet can either make people smarter or dumber correcting every mistake we have but also giving us the answer without us having to think. The Internet is my social arena at times and my outlet to express my feelings for the world to read. I have never actually began to think about how far technology has come and how fast it's actually going. Reading the article Wired 13.08 and Bad Subjects opened my eyes that people didn't think this was a possibility. Now we have wireless Internet, touch screens, access to the Internet on my phone I am constantly connected. My predictions on where the Internet is headed now I can't even wrap my head around it. It all seems like it just an out of reach dream. I can see the point where we will always have access to the Internet it will be available on the smallest screens no wires to anything. It will be completely eliminate books and anything that we use paper for everything will be digitalized. What if there was the possibility that the things we ordered online were delivered through our computer instantaneously. Maybe we will be able to touch and feel things on the screen, or smell and taste things. Who knows where technology will go I do believe that the possibilities are endless.

I think that the internet will make printed books obsolete. It is crazy to see how much the internet has grown within our life time.
ReplyDeleteI think it's amazingly crazy how I get all of my news from the tele and the net. I never read a newspaper now. My original major was journalism but switched because I knew jobs would be scarce by the time I graduated...
ReplyDeleteClearly there are a lot of possibilities for the internet. What would you like to see the internet do?
ReplyDeleteWe buy and sell, laugh and cry, share and even exclude with programs like MySpace, where we can block users...what don't we do?
ReplyDeleteDo you think there's anything we shouldn't be able to do? Do you wish there was more we could do?
I'd like to be able to wirelessly clean my house. I think of the internet as the closest thing to ESP as we'll all ever get. This way to constantly express myself for not really any reason...to people I may not even know or care to know. It's weird that I would even want to do that...isn't it? But everyone does...so why shouldn't I?
