Asher Roth

I already know this will be the frat boy anthem. This kid is the new Eminem in my eyes and his sound could defintley be mistaken for him. His hit single which is slowly creeping on top charts will soon be blasted all over college campuses. He was also named as one of the Freshman 10 by XXL magazine. Even one of my professors sent out an email about this song asking the class if we knew what the song was. Check his video out below

Citzen Bloggers

There are pro's and con's of citzen bloggers.
Pro's
  • You could be getting the most updated information
  • You could get several points of views of the news
  • It's free!!!
Con's
  • Could take over our regular news outlets
  • Crediabilty

I do think the pro's for citzen bloggers do outweigh the con's. The con's could be overcome and technology has been knocking out companies for years now blogging is a new way to get news out to people. The media has be known to censor some of the news that is feed to us so blogging opens up doors to hear and read news that the media would have never let out. This could be a potential hazard to America if everyone knew every secert the government keeped from us which is why the media is currently censored and the storylines are choosen and edited. Here's one blog I came across failsafezone seemed to be a citzen blogger to be bringing the news about the weather in Arkansas and other media news. This blogger seems to be more interested in external blogging then internal and telling us about the emergencies that are happening. Citzen bloggers can give a personal view of what is happening in the world instead of the edited version given to you by the radio, news shows, and newspapers.

Weblogs

I started to realize that blogging was becoming the new myspace phenomenon when one of my friends wrote me a comment saying you have a blog too? I replied back with yes, why? His answer was everyone and there mama has a blog. I began to think about it was the new bandwagon that everyone has slowly been hopping on over the past few years. We even have this class which is dedicated to nothing but blogging.
A blog in my description would be personal views and ideas that covers whatever is most important to the blogger. I agree with Cass McNutt who said that bloggings best description could be described as a column meets talk radio.
I think that this phenomenon will only continue to grow because people are naturally curious in how people live there lives and people also love to talk about themselves to anyone that will listen.
I see my blog as being an extroverted personal blog. I love to find information on the web and put my own personal commentary on the issue or artifact. Before I created my blog I created it with a purpose other then class. I wanted to write about music, the music industry is where I want to make my career. I love to incorporate images as much as possible because when I read a blog that is what captures me are the images.

B.O.B ATL Artist

This artist out of Atlanta as a unique style from other rappers. He plays the piano, he plays the guitar, he composes and arranges his own music, he sings and he raps his just musically talented. He doesn't coin a specific meaning for his name B.O.B but lets it stand for many different things. He hasn't been corrupted by the industry yet. His song In the Sky has a good message and doesn't have a contradicting video. The video unlike most hip-hop videos is not filled with "video hoes" and has a positive message. Check it out below . He also has another single that has been doing well called Haterz everywhere we go check him out on myspace B.O.B myspace. He was rated as one of the top 10 freshman by XXL magazine. Changes and Transformation

I remember being a little kid and just getting the Internet. At the time it seemed so cool that I had unlimited access to games and answers to my questions. As a kid that was all I was worried about I had no idea how new the Internet was and how it would grow into something that I used everyday. I remember dial up being so slow but I didn't know any better, I'd probably go crazy using the Internet that I grew up on. Now the Internet and the computer in general I have grown dependent on. It is my knowledge base when I don't know about a concept or what a word means or how to spell it I can hop onto the Internet and answer all of my questions. The Internet can either make people smarter or dumber correcting every mistake we have but also giving us the answer without us having to think. The Internet is my social arena at times and my outlet to express my feelings for the world to read. I have never actually began to think about how far technology has come and how fast it's actually going. Reading the article Wired 13.08 and Bad Subjects opened my eyes that people didn't think this was a possibility. Now we have wireless Internet, touch screens, access to the Internet on my phone I am constantly connected. My predictions on where the Internet is headed now I can't even wrap my head around it. It all seems like it just an out of reach dream. I can see the point where we will always have access to the Internet it will be available on the smallest screens no wires to anything. It will be completely eliminate books and anything that we use paper for everything will be digitalized. What if there was the possibility that the things we ordered online were delivered through our computer instantaneously. Maybe we will be able to touch and feel things on the screen, or smell and taste things. Who knows where technology will go I do believe that the possibilities are endless.

Visual blogs

My favorite blog to read depicts a Visual Blog to a T, Kanye West's Blog. When I'm looking through blogs usually what will pull me in is the layout of the page and the pictures and colors of the blog. From there I will begin to read the first few lines of what the blogger has to say if that doesn't pull me in I'll be moving on to read the next blog. Pictures tell a story on there own. Depending on the author they can help you guide the story along with reality or let you create your own story line.

I think that a huge problem with blogs today is that a lot of people are not orginal with there blog ideas. Most blogs that I have read or come across all get there orginal material from the same source or if you continue to follow the links you find that there is only one orginal source that is far far away from the blog you were intial reading. With me being interested in music many blogs will contain the same song and same message behind it. Where did the orginal material come from Merdith Badger calls this Unstable Images serialized in her article Into he Blogosphere.

My ASU is Down

Unfotunately My ASU hates me and has not been working for the past few days now I have not gotten the chance to finish reading the article to write my other post once I have access to finish reading I will grace you with my thoughts and ideas.

Lil Wayne New Song Prom Queen

Lil Wayne new song has recently leaked onto the internet, Prom Queen. This is from his new album that hasn't dropped Rebirth. It's ironic that this song came out to me because I have been recently having conversations with my friends about him reinventing himself. Most of the world is familar with Lil Wayne even if they don't listen to hip-hop or rap music. Lil Wayne's last album the Carter III sold one million copies within it's first week. Lil Wayne has also collabed and remixed with almost every major hip-hop and r&b artist in the industry. You can not go 12 minutes listening to a hip-hop station without hearing a verse
from Lil Wayne. This is the whole reason why I said that Lil Wayne would need to reinvent himself if he wanted to continue to be successful he has so many songs out at once. Prom Queen is definitely a song that Lil Wayne has started to reinvent himself on. Prom Queen has more of a Rock and Roll sound. Lil Wayne has been been saying that he would be dropping a Rock album. The song has more drums, guitars, and bass all elements of a rock and roll song. This song is just a glimpse into what the album will bring us and also where hip hop will be going. A lot of hip-hop and rap fans have criticized Lil Wayne's songs on the Internet as they criticized Kanye Wests album 808's and Heartbreaks another known artist that had tried something new and different then the rest. In my eyes I feel that these artists are taking note from original MC's Run DMC and artist James Brown who did transform rock and mixed it with something new and created a phenomenon. Hip-hop is meant to change and grow as it has been doing for years now gathering more and more fans on the way.
